At just 29 years of age, Virat was already considered one of the best cricket players in the World. He first burst onto the scene as the captain of the victorious Indian team at the 2008

U/19 Cricket World Cup, where he poured in 235 runs in six matches. A year later, at the 2009 Emerging Players Tournament in Australia, Virat once again led India to world victory – he was the tournament’s leading run scorer. 

Currently Virat is the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team across all formats, Virat’s name is also regularly called upon to play for his country in top international tournaments, like the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy and the Tri-series and has been creating milestones in the World of Cricket.

Mary Kom, Boxing, India

“I have always been encouraging women to learn boxing for self-defense. Even if not boxing, keeping yourself physically fit will instill confidence in you. Having confidence itself is a self-defense to some extent.”

Five-time world champion, Olympic Medallist and mother to three sons, “Magnificent Mary” was born to fight. Never having boxed before, Mary laced up for the first time in 2000, when she was just 17. By 2001, she was a National Champion. In April 2016, Mary Kom was nominated by the President of India as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament.

Lakshya Sen, Badminton, India

Lakshya Sen is an Indian badminton player, born in Almora, belongs to a badminton family. His father, D K Sen, is a coach in India and his brother is also an international badminton player. He has been training at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Bangalore since 2010.

Lakshya also competed in the senior international level and won the men's singles title at the 2016 India International Series tournament. He emerged as the champion at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships defeating the top seeded World No. 1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the final.

Manika Batra, Table Tennis, India

As of September 2018, she is the top-ranked female table tennis player in India and ranks 56 worldwide. Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has recommended Manika’s name for the Arjuna Award 2018, post her Commonwealth Games’ glorious success. She started playing table tennis at a very early age of 4 years, having got inspired by her elder sister Anchal, who also used to play the game.

The IIS-JSW Partnership

Herbalife Nutrition has joined hands with the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in their quest to help Indian athletes achieve the Olympic dream. IIS is India’s first privately-funded High-Performance Training Institute that trains young athletes across five Olympic disciplines of Athletics, Boxing, Judo, Swimming and Wrestling. IIS provides over 150 talented junior athletes residential scholarships with access to world class infrastructure, technical training and sports science support to help them achieve their potential.
